Setting the Eco-Standard

Twin Hearts Farm Bed & Breakfast is on the forefront of environmental support and change.  The most impressive example of this, you will notice on your approach to the inn.  In 2007, Joanne & Steve installed solar panels on the roof that provide electricity to the inn year-round, rain or shine!  Joanne and Steve are particularly proud of this contribution to minimizing the carbon footprint in this great state!

Speaking of footprints, Twin Hearts Farm Bed & Breakfast is a no shoes environment.  We respectfully ask that all guests “leave shoes by the door in the mudroom.”   What is a mudroom?  With four glorious seasons in Maine, we also have outdoor elements that find a way in!  To combat mud, snow, ice, water, dirt, bugs, grass, and a host of the other outdoors from coming indoors, many Mainers have a mudroom-a small entryway just prior to coming in the main area of a house.  So be sure to pack your favorite pair of slippers or socks!  If you should forget, we do offer a wide variety of clean slippers that you may borrow during your stay.  The no shoes rule keeps the floors clean and dry for the comfort of all!

In addition to the comfort for all of our guests, Twin Hearts Farm Bed & Breakfast is also considerate of clean air for all.  Therefore,  the inn is a non-smoking establishment.  All guests who may need to, are asked to smoke in the designated area where we have placed a bench and sand pail for your convenience. There is absolutely no smoking allowed in the house, deck, or porch.
